Updated with new material, The C Word is the incredibly moving, darkly humorous account of one woman's fight against breast cancer. Now a BBC Drama starring Sheridan Smith. The last thing Lisa Lynch had expected to put on her 'things to do before you're 30' list was beating breast cancer, but them's the breaks. So with her life on hold, and her mind stuffed with unspoken fears, questions and emotions, she turned to her computer and started blogging about the frustrating, life-altering, sheer pain-in-the-arse inconvenience of getting breast cancer at the age of 28. The C-Word is an unflinchingly honest and darkly humorous account of Lisa's battle with The Bullshit, as she came to call it. From the good days when she could almost pretend it wasn't happening, to the bad days, when she couldn't bear to wake up, Lisa's story is emotional, heartbreaking and often hilarious. The C-Word will make you laugh and cry, and ultimately reaffirm your faith in life.

If you've ever been looked at like you have three eyes and six fingers when you mentioned the C word, then this book is for you. At first-thought, after hearing the title of the book, there are some minds that will immediately go to that other word that begins with a C, which is an ugly word, or to that word for a very ugly disease so many of us have been affected by. This isn't either of those. This C word is for celibacy, and it is not a bad word, though some people will act and treat you as if it is. It is not a word only to be whispered or spoken of with any sort of shame attached to it. This book is the nearly three-decade-long account of the real-life celibate experiences of Ingrid Bohannon. Sometimes with humor and sometimes with pain, the story delivered throughout these pages will motivate, inspire, uplift, encourage, and ignite empathy and compassion. It may even make you laugh, as well as give a deeper understanding of subject matter you may or may not have been exposed to before now. It is the extraordinary story of coming into one's truth, and honoring it unashamedly. What you will get from this book is that celibacy is not a bad word. It is not a bad thing, just different.

God is up to something! God is on a mission to save and bless the world, and God calls the church to be part of this mission. That means gettingfocused, setting people free, taking action, expecting surprises, and being hopeful. A church on God's mission isn't a building or a building plus a pastor. It's people–people who carry out God's mission in the world. Building on her bestselling book, Reclaiming the "L" Word,Kelly A. Fryer gives practical advice on how to transform our idea of church and what that means for our lives as Christians.

This book is me – talking to you. It’s not grammatically correct – I fragment a lot. It probably has some errors – I’m not perfect and neither is this book. It certainly is not politically correct and may even offend some people. I tell it like it is, as I have always done. You rarely have to wonder where I stand on something – I have an opinion on almost everything. I have written this in my style – like I’m sitting next to you in the same room telling you my story. I was diagnosed with Stage III cancer in November, 2008. I experienced a short period of remission until my Stage IV – terminal diagnosis in February, 2010. This book covers the period of my initial diagnosis to where I am now in May, 2010. Cancer is a dirty word! I have accepted that I will probably die from cancer. I have not accepted that my life is over. This book is intended as a gift. A gift from me to the reader. I’m not telling anyone how to do this or that they should handle it the way I am approaching it. It’s just my story of how I am dealing with it and attempting to turn devastation into opportunity. Every dollar we bring in with the sale of this book will go towards my dream project – My Sister’s Place, Too – a transitional housing program for women and children who have made the decision to leave their abusive situations and start a new life. There is a chapter devoted to this project. You can help me achieve my dream by purchasing this book for yourself or better yet as a thoughtful gift for anyone on the cancer journey.
