Life as Kim and Krickitt Carpenter knew it was shattered beyond recognition on November 24, 1993. Two months after their marriage, a devastating car wreck left Krickitt with a massive head injury and in a coma for weeks. When she finally awoke, she had no idea who Kim was. With no recollection of their relationship and while Krickitt experienced personality changes common to those who suffer head injuries, Kim realized the woman he had married essentially died in the accident. And yet, against all odds, but through the common faith in Christ that sustained them, Kim and Krickitt fell in love all over again. Even though Kim stood by Krickitt through the darkest times a husband can ever imagine, he insists, “I’m no hero. I made a vow.” Now available in trade paper with a new chapter and photo insert, The Vow is the true story that inspired the major motion picture of the same name starring Rachel McAdams (The Notebook), Channing Tatum (Dear John), Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), and Academy Award winner Jessica Lange.

Our vision is to educate, energize, and empower through teaching, mentoring, and coaching programs. Our method includes relationships and character-building books, conferences, seminars, workshops, and couples retreats. This seven-hour step by step guide is the design to ignite the power within you by empowering you to build better relationships. Marriage is a shared commitment with shared responsibilities. We found that seven shares were the glue that kept us together over thirty years. These are shared compatibility, shared communication, shared faith, shared commitment, shared prayer, shared intimacy, and shared investment, which will be a benefit in shared returns. This information is too valuable to keep to ourselves. We're obligated to share this with you so that your relationships and marriages will be successful. There are other areas that are just as important, but over the past thirty years of marriage, these seven were the most significant for us! Why This Book? Because we have both lost a lot of time and energy in relationships that weren't compatible. When a relationship doesn't have any shared compatibilities, the relationship loses. Its purpose for being becomes strained when something is strained, and it loses its original form and becomes useless. What can you expect? You can expect to discover the seven shares with the proper applications of building great relationships. These seven are the cornerstones, regardless of whether it's a romantic relationship or a friendship.

Although many Catholics, and certainly most non-Catholics, are unaware of it, the rule of celibacy for Catholic priests is not absolute. The ordination of a married man is exceptionally rare, but it does occur. In most cases it happens as an accommodation for a married priest of another Christian church, almost always Anglican (Episcopalian), who has converted to the Catholic faith and wishes to serve in the Catholic priesthood. The Anglican Pastoral Provision, a set of streamlined canonical policies established by Pope John Paul II in 1980, encouraged the reception of these priest. Since then over a hundred men-most married, most Episcopalian-have been ordained; today there are seventy-five married former Episcopalian priests serving in the U.S. Catholic Church. Based on one hundred fifteen interviews augmented by biographical, survey and historical research,Keeping the Vow tells the story of these married priests and their wives, their unusual and difficult journey from Anglicanism and their life in the Catholic Church. Sullins explores the perspectives of this small group of men and their wives and how they juxtapose a unique set of identities and perspectives. A full-sample national survey provides the views of U.S. bishops on the practice of married priest ordination. The book's extensive use of quotes and personal narrative helps bring these stories to life, while sociological analysis provides a clear view of their collective features and discusses implications for related social and religious issues such as conversion, priesthood, worship, marital roles and celibacy. An engaging study on Catholicism, Anglicanism, American religion, and marriage, Keeping the Vow expands the discussion on the future prospects and effects married priests in the Catholic Church.

Now an official resource of the nationwide DivorceCare ministry, this new edition of When the Vow Breaks offers practical advice to Christians regarding the top five felt needs and issues that result from facing divorce: kids, finances, anger, depression, and loneliness. In this sensitive and thorough guide, author/attorney Joseph Warren Kniskern recounts the emotions of his own failed marriage and shares a comprehensive study on what the Bible says about marriage and divorce. More important, he shows how God continues to work in people’s lives to provide hope and encouragement in the aftermath of divorce. Kniskern also provides important insights about how to seek reconciliation, secure proper marriage counseling, find a good attorney, and negotiate settlements and custody issues.
